MG GROUP CELEBRATES 100,000 BUSES PRODUCED IN 20 YEARS MG Group, one of India’s largest privately owned bus building companies, is celebrating its 20 years of bus building business in India. The group will be launching its flagship premium luxury coach ‘Mammoth’ for the Indian market on the occasion. A new coach 'Columbus' will also be unveiled during the celebrations slated to be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from 10 to 12 November 2016.

SOLARIS ARTICULATED TROLLEYBUSES WITH FUEL CELL RANGE EXTENDER FOR RIGA

Solaris Bus & Coach and the Latvian capital city operator Rigas Satiksme signed an agreement for the delivery of 10 low-floor trolleybuses equipped with a fuel cell range extender. The new solution will enable operation of the trolleybuses on the sections of Riga public transport network without overhead wires, but by energy stored in the batteries. The contract includes also an option for ten further vehicles – being new-generation Urbino 12 electric buses. These battery-powered vehicles also are to be fitted with fuel cells. The first trolleybus from this order is to roll onto Riga streets near the end of 2017.

VOLVO DEVELOPS DOUBLE DECK ELECTRIC HYBRID Volvo Bus widens its growing electromobility range, with the B5LHC Double Deck Electric Hybrid chassis. It builds on the success of the Volvo 7900 single deck Electric Hybrid bus launched in 2014, and is an extension of the well-proven technology used as standard in the Volvo B5LH Hybrid. The difference lies in a more powerful electric motor, increased capacity lithium ion battery rated at 19kWh and equipment for opportunity charging.
